SCIRAB (Science in radio broadcasting) is an informal network of science radio programmes, science radio journalists, researchers and scientists interested in the radio as a medium for science communication.

NEWS and UPCOMING EVENTS

Scirab at FEST
A session on science on the radio will be organised at the International Science Media Fair - FEST in Trieste, 17-20 May 2007 (www.festrieste.it).

Science in radio broadcasting is a book!
The results of the SCIRAB meetings, together with the results of the survey and some background consideration on science on the radio have been collected in a book, on sale in printed version and freely available on-line for open access:

SCIRAB at PCST 2006
The SCIRAB activities and results were presented at the PCST 2006 conference (Public Communication of Science and Technology) in Seoul, 17-20 May 2006.

Rádio & Ciência - Ciência no Rádio
The Scirab work was presented at an international conference on science on the radio organised in Brasilia by the Brasilian Ministery of Research (21-22 June 2006).


RECENT ACTIVITIES

CER 2005 – Communicating European Research
Brussels, 14 & 15 November 2005
The European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research will host the second “Communicating European Research” conference. The event will focus on the manifold aspects of science communication and will provide a forum and meeting place for scientists, communication professionals and journalists.

A specific session will be devoted to Science in Radio Broadcasting, and will be organised by SCIRAB:
